David and Monique - and their four daughters Anevay, Ambree, Adelyn and Arwen - are the founders and senior pastoral family of AC. David and Monique were married in 2005, and served on the pastoral team of North Point Church in the San Diego area from 2005-2012. In 2012, they answered the call to move home to the Los Angeles area, and began planting Acts Church.

Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel, make disciples, and baptize in my name." The gospel is His story. Our story is all about sharing Him to the PEOPLE OF the GREATER LOS ANGELES metro.

Acts Church was birthed out of a burden for the millions of lost and broken souls in the Los Angeles region. In September 2012, our founding pastors, David and Monique McGovern along with their daughters took a step of faith and moved back home to Los Angeles to plant a spirit-filled, bible-teaching church. They began teaching bible studies in the living room of their home in Glendale. On Easter of 2013, Acts Church of Glendale was officially launched, and in 2014, Sunday worship services were launched. In 2018, the Acts Church team began working on planting a second church in Los Angeles, and the McGoverns became Metro Missionaries to Los Angeles. The AC Network was established to resource, train, and support potential church planters, and to plant new churches around Greater LA.

About Sin and Salvation

Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

About the Gospel

The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel (II Thessalonians 1:8; I Peter 4:17) by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance (resurrection).

About Christian Living

As Christians we are to love God and others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God joyfully. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today.

About The Future

Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death.
